Week 2: Picture Story (Foust)

This is my favorite candid photo of me on my wedding day (possibly ever!). I did write a rough script this time, but think the narration still feels casual and natural. I chose the guitar music because we had an acoustic guitar player at our wedding- I mentioned this in the story to tie it together. The music is from www.freeplaymusic.com and I used Audacity to add narration to the soundtrack. Everything was put together in Windows Movie Maker.

6/21: I forgot to attach my script! Sorry about that! I did not follow the the script verbatim, I just used it as a guideline when I was recording the narration. The script I used is as follows:

Kent and I have been married for 10 years, and even after all this time I wouldn’t change a thing. It was simple and small- only about 30 friends and family members were in attendance. We got married at my parents house on a huge boulder, and we hired an acoustic guitar player we found at a coffee shop to provide the music. The day was filled with laughter, especially during the garter toss. All of the men just watched it fall to the ground and Kent had to toss it again, telling them someone had to catch it! The day was perfect and I remember feeling an enormous sense of happiness as I thought about our future together building a home and starting a family.

  1. Angie,

Nice work. I can hear the smile in your voice as you talk about the garter toss. One suggestion would be to have the animation continue throughout your entire story, but I really think you did a great job.

  2. Yes to the acoustic guitar! Because of its origin and because it really works here. Liked it when you panned in first and might have kept it there instead of another pan. Of course, I didn't even think or know we were could do any things like this and just have a static photo, so who am I to comment! P.S. I felt sunshine in this photo.

  3. I like the casual feel to the narration as you mentioned. It does not sound rehearsed or written. The sound was a little to quiet for me. It might be nice to punch up the volume a little. I think you captured the essence of the photo well.

  4. Wow....what a wonderful story! The music choice for the background was excellent. This is a digital story you need to pass on and on through the years to your kids and their kids. The only suggestion is maybe to soften your narration. You have a great voice for recording but maybe in a softer tone for this might be even better. Nice job!

  5. Very well done. I thought the guitar was perfect.
The happiness in your voice matched the happiness in the photo. It had the casual feel you were going for while still looking professional. I liked how at the end when you talk about the enormous happiness you felt you zoom back in on the smile on your face. Nice timing.
